To paraphrase John F. Kennedy’s line from his inaugural speech as president of America on January 20, 1961, “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country,”
“Ask not what your community can do for you -
ask what you can do for your community”
In addition to the regular Friends of Woodthorpe Park’s Saturday morning session, where we meet outside the Plant Shop at 10am, the Friends will be running an additional two hour gardening session beginning on Wednesday the 6th of April meeting outside the Plant Shop at 1pm.
It is intended to run this midweek gardening session throughout the spring and summer months working on certain areas in Woodthorpe Park’s gardens.
To all those who are interested and all those who are curious please come along. It is an excellent way to make new friends and to assist in preparing the gardens for Woodthorpe Park’s centenary celebrations on Wednesday 1st of June and also HM Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations as well.
