Website of The Friends of Woodthorpe Grange Park

The Friends of Woodthorpe Grange Park is a voluntary group of like-minded people who care for Woodthorpe Grange Park and its environment. The group meets on a quarterly basis at the Grange on Woodthorpe Park.

Initially, the group acts as a link to Nottingham City’s Parks and Leisure Department, by passing on any information as regards environmental issues that concern Woodthorpe Grange Park.

In more recent times the Friends of Woodthorpe Grange Park have taken on a proactive role by organising gardening sessions in the park’s Formal and Dell Gardens. Also, two members lead walks around Woodthorpe Grange Park. One, who is a local historian, leads heritage walks around Woodthorpe Park and also organised illustrated talks in Grange, which are advertised on the Friends of Woodthorpe Park’s Facebook page whilst another member, a retired horticultural and landscape architect leads a tree walks around the park’s gardens, which is also advertised on the Friends Facebook page.

The Friends of Woodthorpe Grange Park are always on the lookout for new members. Also, by becoming a member of the Friends of Woodthorpe Grange Park, on the production of a current membership card, you will receive a 10% discount at the Woodthorpe Park Plant Nursery plus a 10% discount at the adjacent cafe. Any changes to conditions of membership, you will be notified by email.

If all you wish to do is support and take advantage of the membership discount that is entirely up to you as an individual, as there is no obligation to take part in any of the activities. However, if you have an hour or two to spare and would like to become involved in the friend's activities, or if you have a skill you feel would enhance the friend’s range of activities and would like more details on how you can join, click on the underlined membership title.
